Laser Hair Removal for Seattle & Lynnwood

Removing undesired hair is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments. Removing hair by laser provides the greatest effectiveness, with least discomfort. Women, and an increasing number of men, are tossing their shaving kits and painful waxing regiments, optioning for permanent hair removal instead.

Laser hair removal is one of the most common laser practices, proven safe and effective with decades of clinical studies. During treatment, the laser heats the hair follicle, destroying it and preventing regrowth, without damage to the surrounding skin.

Excessive hair growth is typically a cosmetic issue. Women may experience undesired growth, especially after pregnancy and menopause. Likewise, as men age, they typically experience accumulative hair growth. Some ethnicities are more prone to hair growth, and in rare cases, some diseases have excess hair growth as a symptom.

Light Sheer by Luminous is the choice laser used at Radiant Medspa, used at the Seattle and Lynnwood locations. The light sheer produces the highest level of laser light to accomplish hair reduction in fewer treatments, rated number one for light lasers. The Light Sheer Diode laser is the fastest, safest and best laser for hair removal on all skin types.  Some clinics purchase a multiplatform laser that includes a “hair removal” IPL attachment.  While IPL lasers are a better tool for photofacials and anti-aging treatments, IPL lasers are substandard performers for hair removal.  An easy method to determine if a clinic is using a light sheer diode laser for hair removal, or an IPL laser: If you need to wear very dark glasses during treatment, and detect bright flashes of light, that’s an IPL laser.  If you wear light color glasses during treatment and detect no bright flashes, that’s a light sheer diode laser.  The difference in laser quality for hair removal:

1. How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal works by selectively heating the bulb of the hair, without damaging surrounding the tissue and skin. The laser beam passes through the skin, without causing damage. The heat damages the follicle’s papilla and cellular matrix, preventing the follicle from producing hair.
